Ethos and history of the school.
Prior Weston has a unique mix of child-centred education and clear and defined structures. This influences every aspect of school life from the regular trips and visits programme, project weeks, maths and science weeks, termly themes and topics, school council, playground council, the family groupings in the classroom, the Happening, the School Play (with a part for each child), the class assemblies, the amazing visitors who have come to the school over the years from the insect man to all the great authors. The school is a visual feast with the results of the children’s work displayed in all the corridors and classrooms. At the annual open day prospective families are shown around by the children who proudly show off their school with an ownership that comes from being involved in decisions about their learning.
